Why do you need to verify my account?

We need to verify your identity for account safety and protection.

To invest on Netcapital, we need to verify the identity of each investor. This process is to prevent your bank account from being used, intentionally or unintentionally, by criminal elements for money laundering activities.

Typically, we can do this with the information you have already provided for us, like your legal name and address. However, in some instances you may receive a request from Netcapital to upload a photo of your government-issued ID. This can include a passport, driver's license, or state ID card directly to your settings page.

It is important to note that we will be unable to begin processing any of your pending investments until this process is complete. If you have any further questions about this process, or are having difficulty with uploading a photo, please email help@netcapital.com.
